#LegalTech, #RegTech and #Compliance.
Paris, 25 March 2019 Le Village by CA, a unique ecosystem where start-ups and big groups join forces to innovate together, and Lefebvre Sarrut, the European leader in the knowledge economy, reveal the winners of their joint call for applications. The jury received 100 applications. Out of the 100 applications, 9 were chosen by the Jury and pre-selected to take part in a ‘Pitch Party’ held on Thursday 21 March at Le Village by CA. Following the pitch party, 4 start-ups in particular stood out:
Technological audacity award: TP Qube
TP Qube is a RegTech start-up, a pioneer in the use of statistical learning techniques in the field of transfer pricing. It has developed new statistical models that allow businesses to save time and halve the price of compliance in the European Union.
Business accelerator award: Rubypayeur
Rubypayeur is a community solution that puts an end to late payments. Based on the ‘Name & Shame’ technique, bad debtors are reported on a search engine that lists 11 million French companies. Rubypayeur also enables its members to be certified when they meet payment deadlines, known as ‘Name & Fame’. Specially designed for VSEs and SMEs, Rubypayeur allows businesses to obtain information, protect themselves and save money on debt collection services.
Jury’s Favourite award: Fair Makers
The first automated monthly platform using data analytics to audit the conditions of workers in factories, Fair Makers helps control supplier risks. The criteria taken into account concern company engagement and governance, risk assessment and traceability, procurement practices, recruitment, workers’ ability to express their grievances, monitoring and corrective measures. These criteria correspond to the application of the Law on the Duty of Vigilance in France, dubbed the Rana Plaza Law.
Audience Award: Case Law Analytics
Case Law Analytics uses artificial intelligence to quantify all legal and judicial uncertainties, from the drafting of a contract to assess a future risk to litigation in order to measure the risk of conviction.
The winners will receive the following advantages:
– operational support from Lefebvre Sarrut, the assigned adviser that will monitor the start-up over 2 years to boost its business;
– access to key Lefebvre Sarrut data to accelerate their development;
– a free working space for one year: Place du Village (for 4 start-ups selected by Lefebvre Sarrut / 1 person per start-up, subject to available space);
– review by a selection committee with the possibility to join Le Village by CA Paris and benefit from its support over 2 years, without having to complete the pre-selection phase.
