Lefebvre Sarrut signs Europe’s AI Pact to encourage the early adoption of ethical AI standards in the legal sector

Paris La Défense, 26 September 2024 –

On Wednesday, 25 September, Lefebvre Sarrut, the European leader in legal and tax knowledge and a pioneer in generative AI for legal professionals, signed the AI Pact, a European Union initiative to encourage companies to anticipate the ethical requirements set out in the new AI Act. Aimed at promoting the moderate, ethical use of generative AI, the AI Pact aligns with Lefebvre Sarrut’s AI policy for the legal sector, which is already found into GenIA-L, the first generative AI solution exclusively based on verified, up-to-date legal content produced by Lefebvre Sarrut and its local brands.

Introduced by the European Union to support the gradual implementation of the AI Act, the AI Pact encourages organisations to commit to taking action to comply with the new regulation ahead of the legal deadlines.

The signatories of the AI Pact, including Lefebvre Sarrut, pledge to:

  • Adopt an AI governance strategy to foster the uptake of AI in the organisation and work towards future compliance with the AI Act
  • Carry out, to the extent feasible, a mapping of AI systems provided or deployed in areas that would be considered high-risk under the AI Act

Promote awareness and AI literacy of their staff and other persons dealing with AI systems on their behalf, taking into account their technical knowledge, experience, education and training and the context the AI systems are to be used in, and considering the persons or groups of persons affected by the use of the AI systems.
